All of these will be aided by using the camera viewer function built into mach3 a popular cnc machine control software application offered by newfangled solutions and a free mach3 camera plugin by klaus dietz that adds crosshairs and other reference features to the camera view screen.

Every time we try to film in a cnc machine we always end up covering the lens in coolant. We got this idea from an excellent series of videos on the edge precision youtube channel. Constantly stopping the machine to wipe off the lens was getting annoying so we designed an air knife that allows us to clean off the lens from outside the machine. One inside each of the three machine enclosures and one mounted on a wall overhead for a view of the shop area.

Log on to the cnc and check for machine alarms or other. Lots of camera options are available on the market so ensuring that an operator has the right camera for any given application can be a challenge.
