Move centurylink dsl modem to another room.
I m moving into a new house on friday and i want the router located in the second bedroom man cave rather than the living room where it will presumably be installed chances are i ll go with bt infinity and i want the router located near my computer for convenience and to easily have everything wired up.
Help my dsl modem that was provided to me from at t is the 2wire 3600hgv dsl gateway wireless modem i m trying to move it from my parents room to the living room so that theres better connection all around the house.
I don t have a phone set up in the house and i don t think any filters are being used also when the guy came to set it up he opened the phone jack and did something.
I mimicked the same setup in the living room but for some reason the internet light on the router stayed red.
Help moving a dsl modem from one phone jack to another doesn t work.
I have a centurylink modem hooked up downstairs and want to move it to my room upstairs but when i plug it in it wont connect to the dsl.
This is a house and not a condo or apt.
So i d like to move my att uverse dsl modem router to the living room for logistical reasons.
The only one that would be viable to move.
It turned out that the new 6 0 cordless system that i bought with 5 cordless handsets that don t need their own phone jacks interfered with the dsl wireless signal when they were in the same room.
Would be the one downstairs it needs dsl to connect and i have a phone port in my room but when i put the modem upstairs and connect it to power and connect a dsl cable to the phone jack in my wall the dsl and internet lights blink on the modem.
I just changed around where i had my dsl modem and my base phone for my cordless handsets plugged in.
